LABEL PRINTING
Printing on the surface of the CD is by the silk-screen process using UV-dried inks. We can print up to five colors, which can be matched using the PMS system, or by using the four process colors (with or without a white background) to create full-color discs. Films for the label should each be clearly marked with the required print color.
Available print area on the CD is between 35mm-117mm. If printing to the center is required this can be from 20mm-117mm though it is advised to allow for two 1mm concentric rings free of color at 23.5mm and 33.5mm to ensure smooth ink flow (see diagram below).
Text only on silver (aluminum) surface - between 46mm-117mm.
· Film type to be glossy and positive.
· Emulsion to be readable side up.
· Line size minimum 0.15mm for positive images, 0.30mm for negative images.
· Each film (each color) to be on a separate A4 size film.
· Films should be supplied at least 1270-2400 dpi.
· Screen up to 40 dots per cm (100 LPI).
· Tone range from 10%-85%.
· Dots to be oval (can also be round).

· Target points for pre-press system to be included (4 points with an outer diameter of 2 mm each. The position of the target points in relation to the center of the CD are as follows: (45,45);(45,-45),(-45,-45),(-45,45). (see diagram).
· Inner and outer guide rings must be deleted.
· Multi-color designs should allow for overlap between colors.
Please enclose a Cromalin proof or IRIS where four-color process printing is required as this will help us to mach the quality of your original.
