SPECIFICATION FOR INPUT MEDIA

The following formats can be accepted by BY THE BAY MEDIA as inputs for mastering

·     Digital Master Tape ¾"  U-Matic  1630
     Recorded information can be audio or data
   44.1 KHz  sampling  rate
    SMPTE continual time code on Aux, channel 2, standard format  hrs: mins: secs: frames
     Frame log (PQ code) of track start and end times on AUX, channel 1, within first 15 seconds
     A printed PQ sheet must be provided.

·     Digital Audio Tape (DAT)
     Recorded information can be audio only
   44.1 KHz sampling rate
     SMPTE continual time code
   A printed PQ sheet must be provided.
 Start and end of each track must be marked with ID (indices)
     Recording to be made with "emphasis off"
    Music must start only after 20 seconds (preferential to use mew DAT for  each mastering job)

·     Compact Disc
    Discs should be in best possible condition, scratch and dust free.

·     CD-R
     CD-Rs can be regular 74minute/650 mb or single CD-R size.
     Discs should be in best possible condition. Scratch and dust free.
     The CD-R can have its information recorded either "single" or "multi" session (if "multi session" this must be noted on the CD-R box itself and on the purchase order.
     Please supply written DDP code for each CD-R.
